How Can I Help?
Take a look at my counselling and psychotherapy services below.
CounsellingCounselling can be particularly helpful if there is an issue that is troubling you at present and you would like to explore your thoughts and feelings around this. Examples may include addiction, anxiety, bereavement, job loss, relationship issues, and stress.
Counselling will usually be of a shorter time and may be more structured in focus because of the short-term nature. We may refer to past experiences, but our focus would be your day to day life and what has led you to seek support. |
PsychotherapyPsychotherapy is usually over a longer duration and involves exploring past experiences to make sense of present issues and areas of distress. Our early life attachments with caregivers can shape our current relationships and behavioural patterns so therapy can help to identify links between the past and the present.
Psychotherapy can be helpful if you are wanting to discover more about yourself, or if you feel that life lacks a sense of meaning, purpose, or fulfilment. Counselling and Psychotherapy are not mutually exclusive so it may be that you seek counselling support initially but during our work together we unlock a desire for you to learn more about yourself. Because of this, we review our work together regularly to ensure you are getting what you would like from the therapeutic relationship. |
Telephone CounsellingI have been working with clients via telephone during the Coronavirus pandemic. This has made it possible to continue to support existing clients and begin to support new clients. During an unprecedented time, when our lives have been affected and many of us have been experiencing uncertainty, telephone counselling provides a warm, empathic relationship to explore challenging thoughts and feelings.
Telephone counselling offers more flexibility as there are no travel times or costs. It can also be beneficial for those clients who are unable to leave home due to impaired mobility or agoraphobia. If the thought of talking face to face feels too daunting, telephone counselling makes a supportive therapeutic relationship possible. It may be that we decide to work together on the telephone or online and never meet face to face. It could also be that over time you would like to start face to face sessions, this is absolutely your choice and we can talk about this during our work together. |
Online CounsellingI have been working with clients online during the Coronavirus pandemic using FaceTime, Zoom and Skype. This has made it possible to continue to support existing clients and begin to support new clients. During an unprecedented time, when our lives have been affected and many of us have been experiencing uncertainty, online counselling provides a warm, empathic relationship to explore challenging thoughts and feelings.

Let's chat.Deciding to come to Counselling can feel daunting and I appreciate you may have thought about it for quite some time before deciding to take the first step. Therefore, our initial session is for us to get to know a little about each other to determine whether we can work together in a therapeutic way.
